At CleanLens, we believe that your memories are yours alone. Our entire architecture is built around this principle: all processing happens locally on your device using advanced CoreML models. We do not upload your photos to any cloud server for analysis.

1. Overview

CleanLens is an intelligent photo scanning and cleaning application that helps you identify and manage unwanted photos (screenshots, documents, duplicates, and low-quality images) to free up device storage. All AI processing is performed locally on your device using Apple's CoreML framework, ensuring complete privacy protection.

2. Information We Access

2.1 Photo Library Access

The app requests access to your photo library to perform the following functions:

  • Screenshot Detection: Uses PHAsset metadata for accurate screenshot identification
  • Document Photo Detection: Uses on-device AI models to identify document photos
  • Duplicate Photo Detection: Uses advanced hashing algorithms combined with metadata verification for precise duplicate identification
  • Low-Quality Photo Detection: Uses on-device AI models to assess image quality based on multiple technical and perceptual metrics

2.2 Local Storage

We store the following data locally on your device using GRDB database:

  • Photo identifiers you have marked as "Keep" to avoid rescanning
  • Your scan settings preferences (clarity strictness, light tolerance, content importance)
  • Subscription status (managed by RevenueCat)

2.3 What We DO NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:

  • Your photos or photo content
  • Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • Device identifiers beyond what RevenueCat requires for subscription management
  • Location data
  • Browsing history or app usage analytics

3. How We Use Information

All information accessed by the app is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Analyzing photos locally to identify screenshots, documents, duplicates, and low-quality images
  • Displaying scan results for your review
  • Storing your "Keep" preferences to avoid rescanning
  • Managing your subscription status (via RevenueCat)
  • Providing customizable quality assessment based on your preferences

4. Data Processing

4.1 Local Processing

All AI models run entirely on your device:

  • Advanced AI models execute entirely on your device using Apple's CoreML framework
  • No photos are uploaded to external servers
  • No internet connection required for scanning functionality
  • Processing is optimized for memory efficiency and performance

4.2 Quality Assessment System

Our advanced quality assessment system provides three adjustable parameters:

  • Clarity Strictness: Controls the strictness of blur assessment
  • Light Tolerance: Controls tolerance for overexposure/underexposure
  • Content Importance: Balances technical quality and content importance

All calculations are performed locally on your device.

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:

  • Anonymous purchase data to validate subscription status
  • Device identifiers for subscription management
  • App usage data related to subscription features

6. Subscription Information

The app offers a subscription-based Pro version with the following features:

Free Version Limitations:

  • 1 scan per day
  • Maximum 80 photos per scan

Pro Version Benefits:

  • Unlimited scans
  • No photo quantity limit
  • Full feature access

Subscription data is managed by RevenueCat and Apple's App Store. We do not store payment information.

7. Data Security

We implement the following security measures:

  • All photo processing occurs locally on your device
  • Local database (GRDB) is stored securely on your device
  • Photos marked for deletion can be recovered before final deletion
  • No data transmission to external servers (except subscription validation)
  • App operates fully offline for core scanning functionality

8. Your Rights and Controls

You have complete control over your data:

  • Photo Access: You can revoke photo library access at any time in iOS Settings
  • Data Deletion: All local data (keep preferences) can be cleared by deleting the app
  • Subscription Management: You can cancel your subscription at any time through App Store settings
  • Deletion Recovery: Photos marked for deletion can be unmarked before final deletion

9. Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not target children.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
